Jessica / Hsiu-Ping Wang
Jessica received two Master of Art degrees in dance from the University of Californian, Los Angeles. She has been working as a dancer, choreographer, producer and educator in both the fields of dance & performing arts, with a specialization in movement education.
Jessica has been training to dance since childhood and began practicing Pilates soon after her daughter was born in 2000. She began an intensive study of Pilates because she realized that it was benefiting her lower back and hip tremendously not only by strengthening her core but also by reducing her pain which she had due to her lifetime of strenuous dance training. In addition, Jessica realized that Pilates improved her dance technique by helping her use the proper muscle groups and posture training. As a result she has incorporated the Pilates movement theory into her own physical practice and dance teaching. Today Jessica is certified by Physical & Mind Institute, and has finished her Master Instructor training through Balanced Body University & is PMA certified.
Jessica believes bodily movement has its own intelligence and movement education increase the intelligence to connect both body and mind together. People need to be trained to move in a proper way and obtain proper body posture/alignment to increase the healthy movement capacity.
