  • Movement Links Certified Clinician (2016) with proficient knowledge, skills and clinical reasoning in regards to the application of movement-based approaches to assess and treat musculoskeletal pain dysfunctions.
  • Began with Fortanasce in 2012
  • Fluent in Spanish. Has a working knowledge of Russian, French, Italian, and Portuguese.
  • Former competitive gymnast.

  • Active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and Orthopedics Section as well as National Athletic Trainers' Association.

Casey Chaney

Casey Chaney, PT, PhD, OCS, CSCS

Orthopedic Clinical Specialist & Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist

  • PhD from the University of Utah in 1988
  • With Fortanasce & Associates since 1996
  • Earned her Orthopedic Clinical Specialist certification in 2001 and recertification in 2011
  • Published in the Journal of Orthopedic Sports Physical Therapy in 2007 on a study examining surface EMG in patients with shoulder impingement
  • Associate Professor at Western University of Health Sciences in the Department of Physical Therapy for 20 years
  • Coordinates the Advanced Standing DPT program at Western University of Health Sciences
  • Current Nominating Chairperson for the San Gabriel Valley District of the California Physical Therapy Association as well as Assembly Representative
  • Specializes in facial rehabilitation for Bell's palsy and other facial nerve impairments including neuromuscular re-education, a non-surgical treatment approach.

  • In her free time, Kate serves as a consultant for Free Wheelchair Mission, a humanitarian non-profit wheelchair distributor

  • Bachelor of science in Occupational Therapy from Florida International University in Miami
  • Earned her Certified Hand Specialist in 2001
  • 30+ years experience with expertise in fabrication of custom hand and upper extremity splints
  • Experience in diverse setting including private practice, Hand Centers, hospital outpatient, Rehabilitation, acute care, and home care.
  • Extensive experience with hand trauma and wound care including acute burns
  • Treatment of surgical shoulder patients including total shoulder arthroplasty
  • Expertise in treatment of the cumulative trauma patient with instruction in ergonomics posture strengthening and stretch
  • Experience with arthritis splint fabrication and instruction in joint protection and energy conservation techniques
  • Enjoys spending time with friends and family with a love of the outdoors, travel, swimming and working closely with people

Lindsay Cunningham
Practice Manager

  • Brings a unique combination of knowledge, customer service, and empathy to the physical therapy field.
  • Employment with Fortanasce & Associates began in 2008 as a Physical Therapy Aide while attending California State University, Fullerton as a Kinesiology major.
  • Interest in Physical Therapy and experience in business led her to become our clinic’s Practice Manager in 2010.
  • Continues to expand her education so that can better serve our patients.
  • Southern California native who grew up in the Arcadia school district. In her free time, she enjoys reading, learning to play guitar, traveling, and is a football enthusiast. Go Pack Go!
